To Be Fair
#580
If she was really a cougar
She'd have him in her lair
Instead of backing away
In an attempt to be fair
She knew she was too old
But her heart didn't care
She had to use her brain
In an attempt to be fair
He didn't see her struggle
He didn't hear her prayer
Asking God for discernment
In her attempt to be fair
He read all her silly rhymes
With no response to share
Content with the status quo
As she attempted to be fair
She could pass for younger
But she would never dare
Lying simply isn't her style
The truth is all that's fair
She lost her chance with him
Though she wanted him there
Her conscience won the day
Her only choice was to be fair
