Sitting, she catches herself rocking
And immediately starts self mocking
As she taps her foot in steady time
Feeling just like the scene of a crime
When human events touch on abuse
Her childhood demons get turned loose
She attempts to hold it all together
Reminding herself she's tough as leather
But the ugly facts are the ugly facts
And her aging body instinctively reacts
Her one wish in life has been for love
She found it only in the Lord above
She's given up on the earthly kind
Sure it's something she'll never find
