Being alone isn't what she wanted

Haunted by abuse so cleverly hidden
Her will was chronically overridden
Cognitive dissonance ruled her days
Nervous system dysregulation stays
Complex trauma is her current fight
There's no way to set things right
Several of her abusers are now dead
But their abuse still lives in her head
Emotional trauma is a helluva beast
Staying long after abuse has ceased

Carried with her when she escaped
And there's no closure to be had
