October
#281
October speaks to fall in a whisper
Days are shorter; nights are crisper
Leaves are falling, and bonfires are lit
Flannel and hot cocoa an annual hit
Homecomings under Friday night lights
Rowdy fans with the occasional fights
It’s a rite of passage across the South
Bless your heart and hush your mouth
October is when all growth takes leave
Winding down towards All Hallows' Eve
When bats and ghosts all take flight
Watching over the children that night
As October ends with tricks or treats
With scary stories and endless sweets
