Happiness is something you find for yourself
It's nothing that can be bought off a shelf
It's nothing another human can give to you
Another human can amplify it, that is true
But it must well up from the inside to out
And it cannot give in to sadness or doubt
Those things must be fleeting in our hearts
Because that is where our happiness starts
Our hearts may be broken by human action
But our souls will have the pure satisfaction
That our happy hearts will overcome the pain
And that our happiness ultimately will reign
Within the parameters we've chosen to live
And over any abuse we're unable to forgive
